O Jaguar E-Type é um automóvel desportivo britânico que foi fabricado entre 1961 e 1975. Era conhecido pela sua beleza e elevado desempenho, mas mantinha um preço competitivo, o que permitiu que o E-Type se tornasse um ícone do automobilismo em todo o mundo. O E-Type foi baseado no automóvel de competição Jaguar D-Type, que venceu as 24 horas de Le Mans durante três anos consecutivos (1955-1957), o que significava que utilizava o design de competição de uma carroçaria fixada a uma estrutura tubular. O E-Type tinha um desempenho impressionante com uma velocidade máxima de 150 mph e conseguia fazer um tempo 0-60 abaixo dos 7 segundos. Após o fim da produção do E-Type, o seu sucessor, o Jaguar XJ-S, assumiu o lugar do E-Type.

É do conhecimento geral que, aquando do seu lançamento em março de 1961, Enzo Ferrari lhe chamou “o automóvel mais bonito alguma vez fabricado”.

The Jaguar E-Type is a British sports car which was manufactured between 1961-1975. It was known for its beauty and high performance yet maintained competitive pricing, which enabled the E-Type to become a motoring icon throughout the world. The E-Type was based on the Jaguar D-Type racing car, which had won the 24 hour Le Mans for three consecutive years (1955-1957) and meant it employed the racing design of a body tub attached to a tubular frame. The E-Type had some mightily impressive performance with a top speed of 150mph and managed to do a sub 7 second 0-60 time. After production of the E-Type ceased, its successor, the Jaguar XJ-S took over where the E-Type left off.

It is widely known, on its release in March 1961, that Enzo Ferrari called it “the most beautiful car ever made”.
